Berry Island

Berry Islands in the Bahamas is home to some of the best bonefishing and deep sea fishing on the islands. They rank second after Bimini for sport fishing championships. This island is just northeast of Andros and sits on the northeastern edge of the Great Bahama Bank and contains 30 cays and a plentitude of smaller islets, perfect for snorkeling, diving, and hiking. Great Harbor Cay and Chub Cay are the two largest, where the majority of Berry Island residents call home.

Chub Cay is often referred to as “The Fish Bowl of the Bahamas” and runs along a deep sea ravine called the Tongue of the Ocean. This fisherman’s paradise is famous for its record-breaking catches.

Great Harbour Cay contains seven miles of pristine beaches and is one of the most protected harbors in the Bahamas. Once a luxurious golf resort for the rich and famous, Great Harbour Cay is said to contain more millionaires per square inch than any other place on earth.

A few private bays on Berry Island include Crab Cay, Frozen Cay, Alder Cay, Bird Cay, and Petite Cay.
